Is located in Terelj National Park Terelj-Gorkha, 80 km from the capital, the name means "Ledón" a plant that blooms in abundance in this region in the spring.
The park, located beside the National Park Khentii Khan, established in 1994, covers a large part of Khentii Mountains.
Terelj region is a massive mountain with peaks reaching 2700 m. Largely wooded Terelj is also a sanctuary for wildlife.
Terelj has steppe areas and beautiful rock formations.
The curiosity of the most famous Terelj, the Mekhii Khad, a block is recalling the erratic form of a turtle, hence its name. This natural monument is one of the most visited by the Mongols.

Stop at Turtle Rock, the famous Melkhi Khad and visit the old monastery, built a little further up the valley.

Share their animist traditions, Mongolians revere natural formations that appear to have any meaning. But this place also has a history, a few decades ago, this rock was called Mungod Khad, reflecting instead the notion of rock treasure.
